WITH LAUREN CLARK, PRESIDENT & CEO,
Since its launch in November 2017, Bridge C-14 has created a network for individuals to build meaningful connections of support through all stages of assisted death.
Bridge C-14 was founded on the need for access to peer-to-peer support for those with lived experience, as well as to provide information about MAiD. We strive to help change the conversation to one which honours and respects family dignity and individual choice, and are committed to bridging the gap between procedure and compassion.
In this workshop, you will gain an understanding of:
- the history of Medical Assistance in Dying legislation in Canada
- the differences between Track 1 and Track 2 access, eligibility, and processes for the provision based on each Track's regulatory requirements
- the potential for Track 3 - Mental Health - the government's decision to postpone implementation of access for mental health reasons, and some of the perceived challenges
- advance requests - its potential, and current status in Canada
- Who is Bridge C-14? Where did it come from? What does it mean?
- How Bridge C-14 helps create understanding and provides peer connections and community supports to individuals and those who support them on their MAiD journey.
This series occurs over two days:
Saturday, April 22 - 9 am to 11:30 am (PT)
Sunday, April 23 - 9 am to 11:30 am (PT)

With Wendy McAlpine,
There are many ways to capture our legacy stories, and capturing them in a Memoir Film might just be the answer for you or those you're supporting.
Portrait photographer, memoir coach, and documentary filmmaker, Wendy McAlpine will guide you through the process of creating readable, or watchable memoirs. The beauty of a memoir is that it is not a biography. It is a snapshot in time, not the story of your whole life. It all starts with curating your memories and then shaping them into stories. In this interactive workshop, we will revisit your best moments, and your life highlights and begin the journey of memoir creation.
